In my career spanning over three decades as a Finance Professional, I had the wonderful opportunity of working for one of the great companies in India, Siemens Ltd. During the period that I worked with them, they were ranked fourth best company in India to work for and frankly, I never aspired to work for the first three. The challenges were extra ordinary yet the atmosphere and the work culture was informal and friendly. I forged some of the best relationships of my life with some of the best people on this planet earth. I joined them in 1989 as a Finance Executive and rose to the position of the CFO of one of their Subsidiaries within ten years. I would humbly like to admit that it was less due to my personal achievements but more to do with the work culture which fostered hard work and competence. I also got a chance to spend over a year and half in Germany understanding the "German Psyche" as I was being groomed to take higher responsibilities within the group. It was in Germany that I could see what is it that makes this company the superpower that it is today...sheer grit, hard work and more hard work.
